Script to update and append records

Looking for a Google script solution to compare between Master List sheet and Update List sheet. Sheets are identical. Attempting to update the Master List with revised dates and or destinations from the Update sheet and if the ID Number isn't present, to append the record to the Master List.

The 4 Columns are ID Number, Name, Travel Date, Destination for both Lists

Goal#1: When revised Travel Dates appear on Update List any dates that changed should be updated on Master List if it has the same ID Number.

Goal#2: If the Update List has an ID Number which is not in the Master List, append the new record to Master List.

I had been using conditional formatting to highlight changed dates and then pasting them in manually. I would think this is something that can be automated but I can't find anything in the YouTube GS tutorials or the web that addresses these functions directly. 

Appreciate any help you can provide!

You can share the readonly copy of sheets, this would help to better understand your situation.

If there was some code attempt we would have suggested the right way to fix. Since you need a script to do the task, you may consider to hire someone from the consultants listed here
