Is it possible to create a Google Apps Script code that will automatically delete all messages in a specific Google Chat group and lock the group to prevent users from leaving new messages?

It looks like there is an API available that can work with Chats/Spaces, including the ability to delete messages.

It is not immediately clear if you can lock the group using the API.
