I had a recent thought of "Oh I need a GAS dev to help with our internal processes", but when I thought about what I really needed -- it wasn't a Google Apps Developer.
If you're looking for someone to build your house, you wouldn't post a job for a "hammer swinger".
Someone with an eye for effeciency, an understanding of the business needs, and the ability to quickly turn out a functional solution (that doesn't require a 20 page handbook to use) is what I actually wanted.
Google Apps Script is an awesome tool, and it would be very complimentary since my business runs on Google Apps, but I'm less enticed by someone with "Google Apps Developer" as their primary value-add.
If you focus on the problems that you're actually solving, you'll find more folks interested in what you have to offer.
A problem solver (or "automation consultant") who can use tools like Google App Script is something in higher demand.
