The same happens to me. Some times I have to try several times(2x, 3x...) until be successful. 😰

When I get that I open script.google.com and get to it from there - then bookmark the link.

Unfortunately, this happens to me frequently.  My workaround is:

I start a new project. The page freezes.  So I reload the page and I wait some seconds until the browser shows me the following message:

Click "Exit Pages".  Then...

Finally, I reload the page again, and the editor shows the new project ;-)

I have had a similar problem for over a year. Today the problem worsened since i can no longer find the created .gs in my Drive (see attached QR-code or link: Check out this video I recorded with Screencastify: https://watch.screencastify.com/v/K6eQtWE2mBpiASykKTdE).

I have the same issue when using Chrome extension AppsScript Color, when disabled the problem goes away.

Thanks Daniel, that actually solved it for me!

I had that extension as well, but it didn't cross my mind that it could be the issue.
