Script not working as intended.

This program was written by someone in the Google Help team. For some reason (probably my interference) the program is not working as it should.

The idea is to enter names to produce s knockout competition. It therefore requires either a certain number of players i.e. 8 at a minimum. If there are more than 8 participants, there has to be  knock out phase to finish up with 8 or 16. This program randomly selected players to play in a knock out round and then produced the final eight. All help greatly appreciated.
