Trigger stops working after while

Hi GAS users,

I run App scripts app with one trigger.

- Everything works fine for some time.

- After while trigger stops working and starts returning error: Authorization is required to perform that action.

- So I click to Edit trigger, then Save. Get prompt dialog to autorize app and trigger starts working again.

- This issue repeats and I have to autorize scripts again after while

Facts:

- The gmail account that runs app is NOT Google Workspace user.

- The project is Google cloud platform type

I would be glad for any of your hints or ideas.

Hi Herman 

Yes, google does disable triggers. It depends on how frequently the trigger is used. If it has not been used in a while, it will get disabled. Am not sure exactly how long they wait before disabling, I think its somewhere around 6 months to a year. 

So to avoid this, just make sure you are using it regularly.

Hi,

my script runs every 10 or 15 minutes.

So I think this is not the case.

But thanks for your help.

Have you found a solution? I'm having the same problem, with triggers that run from once an hour to once a day. Randomly getting these errors, even though the scripts run without issue when run manually.

Unfortunately, I haven't solved it yet.

I'm planning to copy the whole script under another gmail account and try if the problem persists.

I am also having the same problem. I'm thinking of developing a routine that executes a smaller number of triggers, thus reducing the margin of error.

Exactly the same.

I use a gmail account

The script is triggered once a week.

It's working well 1 week and after that "Authorization is required to perform that action" I need to validate again authorization"

Any idea?
