Feature request: edit and click triggers for GDocs add-on

Dear all,

Are there any plans to expose edit or click triggers for GDocs?

By click trigger I mean at least functionality similar to this:

I don't believe anyone is working on adding this, and I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. You can star the following issue to indicate that this is a feature you'd like to see:

Yes, but I'm thinking of two use-case scenarios:

I would use the edit trigger as a more effective method to refresh the sidebar or run other scripts based on content updated in the doc instead of the time-driven trigger.
The click trigger would get in handy for me to show the sidebar or a dialog without having the user leave the edit area in the document to interact with the add-on menu for example. Clicking on an image or something similar within the document (like it's possible from GSheets) would improve UX and make collaborative edits seamless.
