service account user impersonation

At Google Next London yesterday, we had a q&a and someone (whose name I didn't get) was asking about problems they were having with getting service account impersonation to work. I asked him to join this group and post some details of what he'd tried along with the problems he was seeing.

I'd quite forgotten that I had written an article a little while back to explain how to get round this exact issue, so if you are out there, here it is.
