Hi,

We've been using the Audit API for various Email Monitors, and we're seeing different results.

In some cases, the monitored email appears in the INBOX of the DestinationUser.
In other cases, the monitored email appears in both the INBOX and the Sent "folder" of the DestinationUser.

Is this configurable, so we can control which method is used?

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

What the Email Audit does is adding the DestinationUser's email address to the bcc: field of all monitored mails, so then it is up to the client email application to put those email in the correct folder.
I can imagine that if the DestinationUser was already part of a thread being monitored then he might have also been the in from: field and, as such, that thread is also going to show up in the Sent folder.

Short answer, that behavior is not configurable and the DestinationUser should always be in the bcc: field. If that is not the case, can you please share an example so that we can investigate it?
Thanks

Hi Claudio,

In this case the destinationUser was another user in the domain, not a party to the original email (i.e not the sender nor a recipient).

The folder reference was as viewed within gmail. The Audit Emails appear in both the inbox/sent folder of the destinationUser account.

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Can you share the email headers for one of those messages that appear in the two folders?
Thanks

Claudio
