There are a number of settings that turn a normal Google Group into a Shared Mailbox... enable Archive message to the group, setting the user's Delivery option to nomail, just to name a few.

How would I update a user so that their Delivery option is set to nomail?  I've tried...

username@cloudshell:~/bin/gam$ ./gam update group groupname update owner user...@domain.com nomail Group: grou...@domain.com, user...@domain.com Updated to OWNER

...but that doesn't seem to have any impact or change the Delivery option, under Group settings (Manage Group), Members, All members, Username/Delivery.

What are other various settings that we can set via GAM to help turn these into Shared Mailboxes?  I'd like to create a script to systematically turn a particular Google Group into Shared Mailbox?  I would also include things like restricting who can view and post to All members of the group, but not sure what other options would be good to update... and which of those are available via GAM.

Thanks all,
Dave

Or rather a Collaborative Inbox.  Which I believe is the same thing as a Shared Mailbox.

Awesome!  Yes, that worked.  Thank you.

What other Group settings would you guys recommend for a Shared Mailbox/Collaborative Inbox?

Thanks,
Dave
