GAM for managing spaces

Does anyone know if GAM can be used to manage Google Spaces. We are moving from Slack to Chat and Spaces and need an easy way to admin. Things like bulk adding members, listing all spaces and membership etc..

From a syntax point of view I've have tried this with no luck

code example: gam <UserTypeEntity> create chatmember <ChatSpace>

What I've tried:  gam em...@emailaddress.com. create chatmember spaces/spaceID

Is that correct?

Hi Simon,

Try this format

gam user <Your Email Address> create chatmember spaces/<ChatSpaceID> user <New Member Email Address> 

I have just tested this for a test Chat Space I have and it worked. But if you are not a member of the Chat Space you are trying to add someone to, then the option <Your Email Address> may need to be the email address of an existing member or, probably a Space Manager.

Simon,

You're running Standard GAM which doesn't support the full Chat API, you need to install Advanced GAM.
