GAM Advanced recovery phone

Hello,

I"m trying to update the recovery phone through GAM advanced and im running into update failed invalid recovery phone, here is my command

gam update user XX...@gmail.com recoveryphone "areacode1234567"

From the API documentation: https://developers.google.com/admin-sdk/directory/reference/rest/v1/users

Recovery phone of the user. The phone number must be in the E.164 format, starting with the plus sign (+). Example: +16506661212.
