gam/python on Apple Silicon

I just switched to Apple Silicon, and while I doubt that this is a strictly gam question, I'm wondering if anyone else has come across the greatly reduced speed of running gam commands. Has anyone found a solution?

What is: gam version

If you're using GAMADV-XTD3 you should upgrade to GAM7.
