Hi,

I have create a Custom User Schema for testing with the command from the GAM Wiki site

gam create schema StaffData field id type string indexed restricted endfield field grade type int64 endfield field labels type string multivalued endfield

This worked perfectly but since it was just a testing and only using bogus data I deleted the Custom Schema using gam delete schema StaffData

My issue is deleting the schema did not remove the data, so I recreated the schema again with the idea of removing the data in the fields first then deleting the schema would fix the problem. Bad move the Schemas are created with unique ids and now I have a double ups.

This issue is only effecting one user but unfortunately the user is my account.

Any Ideas?

Where are you seeing the user schema data show after schema is deleted? Contacts UI, gam info user or both?

In either case, give it 24-48 hours after deleting the schema and see if user schema data isn't also removed after that.

Thanks Jay for the quick response,

I am seeing both the deleted Schema data and the recreated data n the Contacts UI

And gam print schemas is showing the confusing output below this is probably because of deletion and creation mess I have created

Schema: StaffData
schemaId: id removed for post ==

 Field: labels
  fieldType: STRING
  indexed: True
  fieldId: id removed for post==

Gam ifo user shows

Custom Schemas:
 Schema: StaffData
  labels:

It has almost been 24 hours since deleting the first schema, so I am thinking hurry up and wait, is the best thing to do.

FWIW, I have a schema that could not be deleted, and have had an open case w/ google for 3 weeks on it now. They acknowledge it can't be deleted, and are waiting for some eng cycles to fix it.

Just looked at my custom schema settings in contacts this morning, and the are slowly disappearing.

Just one label left.

Hello Bri.

Do you have a return from google concerning this issue, because we are in 2K18 and i still have the same problem.
I can't delete 2 customs schemas, neither from the gsuite admin console, or GAM command line.

Have you found a workaround, or Google may have fixed the issue for you ?

I will really appreciate a feedback from you.

Thanks in advance.

We've had the problem for months now - as of last night, we were told "this is an expected behaviour, you cannot delete a custom schema if there is an active mapping with a SAML application. If you delete the SAML application without first remove the mapping, the custom schema will still be non-deletable.

I'm afraid I have to inform that there are no plans to fix this as it is considered the normal behaviour, a temporary solution is to rename the non-deletable custom schema so you can re-create a new one if needed."

We do not have an active mapping though...
