start Directory Sync

In the admin console, in Directory - Directory Sync, if I toggle off and on the External directory I have set up, it forces a sync. Is there a way for me to do that with GAM?

No. There are no APIs to manage directory sync this there's nothing GAM can do here.

What's your need? Is the sync frequency to low for you right now?

Basically, I have all my users in Entra. I have a script that pulls new students down from our SIS and creates them in Entra.  The sync polls once an hour, so depending on when I run the script, it could be up to 59 minutes before the users show in Google.  The passwords dont sync with that, so I then have to go in and set the google passwords.  I can't have the script just sit there for 60 minutes before setting the google passwords. I was looking for a way to force the sync to happen so I can then set the passwords in a timely manner.

Why do you need passwords in Google? Just setup Entrance as your IDP and it's one less time students need to enter their passwords.
