notfoundalias for new accounts?

We run a nightly update for staff accounts to process any changes made by HR that day. We're starting to use immutable aliases as the search key, which prevents new accounts being created if someone changes their name, and we use the 'createifnotfound' option so accounts are created for new staff.

We currently run a separate command to create the immutable alias for all users in the update,  which is fine when there's a handful of updates to be done, but we can have hundreds of users in the update at the beginning or ending of the term, and that seems needlessly processor-intensive.

Is there a way to add the alias during account creation, similar to the 'notfoundpassword' option?

Sorry, would the <alias> go before or after 'createifnotfound' in the command?

It seems counterintuitive to 'update user ~ImmutableAlias ... alias ~ImmutableAlias ... createifnotfound'
