Hello Everyone!

I'm pretty new to this forum but have been using GAM for while now, as I'm sure most of you have. I have a problem blanking out a delivered Google account attribute and thought I'd post here to see if there is a better solution to my issue.

Essentially, I added a company ID number to some of my users by populating the Google delivered "Employee ID" field-- Since then though, I've decided it would be better to create a custom attribute that I can hide instead. The problem is, I can't seem to replicate the functionality of deleting the value from the individual user record within the admin console.

I managed to effectively replace the value with a blank using the command below, but it's not clean, not like when performed through the admin console.

gam update user testuser externalID employeeID " "

I've been reading the wiki page but can't seem to find an equivalent method to the admin console.

So, my questions are, is the command above the best option for accomplishing this?

Should I be worried that it leaves a "custom" value in the place of the ID when I run user reports?

Thank you all in advance!
