Hello,

I am trying to use GAMADV-XTD to export calendar event data for, ideally, an entire OU or user list. However, I keep getting "print is not a valid argument for 'gam calendar'" which makes me think gamadv-xtd is not actually set up correctly? It's hard to tell; the instructions for installing it are difficult for me to understand. I followed all the steps in the documentation for setting up gamadv-xtd on top of gam, but some of the steps didn't match exactly what was in the documentation, so although I didn't get any errors, I'm not confident things went the way they should. Could someone help me verify at least gamadv-xtd is set up correctly, and then perhaps help me formulate the right command to get the data I need?

Thanks!

Tony,

It would helpful to see the command and the error message.

Tony,

gam calendar tony.d...@redfin.com print events todrive

ERROR: print is not a valid argument for "gam calendar"
That error message comes from standard GAM, not Advanced GAM.
Based on your platform (Window,Mac,LInux), check your path or alias to verify that you are running Advanced GAM.

I’ve been using gamed-x to backup room calendars after someone deleted a bunch of our district office room calendars. Luckily they were still in the trash,

gam calendar calenda...@resource.calendar.google.com print events > calendar.csv

Or something like that (actually it’s a cron job and it generates csv files every day).

I find it incredible that I can do a dumb noob thing like not realize my path contained both my gam and gamadv-xtd directories and therefore I was running gam itself this whole time, post about it online and have the actual author of the software see my question—QUICKLY—and kindly point out the solution!

Thank you, Ross, you're a legend.

For the record: This is the query that did exactly what I wanted to do, using a Google Sheet called "targetusers" containing a column "users" with each target user for the export:

gam csvfile gsheet:users my....@domain.com targetusers Sheet1 print events matchfield visibility "(^$)|public" todrive

Thanks to Ross as always for the incredible amounts of help in getting to this point!
