How to make aliases not appear when searching for account.

I currently have 5 user accounts as aliases to another departmental account, for the sake example I'll call it depar...@email.com. When you go to send an email, and you type in 'department', it comes up with 5 options to choose from, each one being one of the aliases. Is there a way to prevent this from happening, and it just recommending depar...@email.com?

I've attempted to remove the aliases from the directory, but as I assumed, the gam command simply acts on the depar...@email.com account and removes it from the directory.

You can hide all aliases from the directory in the CPanel. See:
