Listing Google Chat Spaces

Hi all,

May I know how to list out all the chat rooms (spaces) and the members of each chat room (space) within our organization?

When I follow related GAM commands like "gam print chatspaces >> chatspaces.csv", it always prompts me the following error message:

ERROR:
To set up Google Chat for your API project, please go to:

    https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/api/chat.googleapis.com/hangouts-chat?project=gam-project-426-w3m-dql

and complete all fields.

When I go to the above URL, the screen shows the following:

You do not have sufficient permissions to view this page
RETRYTROUBLESHOOT

There was an error while loading /apis/api/chat.googleapis.com/hangouts-chat?project=gam-project-426-w3m-dql

You are missing the following required permissions:

Project

resourcemanager.projects.get
serviceusage.services.get

Check that the project ID is valid and you have permissions to access it.

Please help clarifying the situation and the procedures of troubleshooting.

Elsa,

When you go to the URL, you need to be logged on as the admin that created your GAM project.
Was taht the case?

I can finally setup the project. Thank you so much.

Another question: Are there any GAM commands which can create Chat Spaces and add/delete members of Chat Spaces like the Classroom commands?

Cole,

First you list all of the chat spaces, the you list the members for each user/chatspace combination. Then you weed out all of the duplicates.
There is no API support for listing all chat spaces; there is no support for listing members of all chat spaces. You have to do the work.

Hi Ross,

Thanks for the info, I was able to use "gam all users print chatspaces todrive” to export and filtering out the duplicates and got I wanted. Thank you!
