to GAM for Google Workspace
Hi folks

Lets say I have CompanyA and CompanyB, both using Google Workspace and GAM. CompanyA acquired CompanyB. CompanyA wants to migrate all the pre-existing direct message chats and group message chats from john.doe(at)CompanyB to john.doe(at)CompanyA.

I've been looking into the best way to do that, and it unfortunately doesn't look like Google provides a tool like the Data Migration Tool that specifically handles chats. And the Chat APIs are pretty non-existent.

Does anyone have any experience with migrating chats from a user on one tenant to a user on another tenant?

So far all I've come up with is a Google Takeout on CompanyB and just keeping that exported data in an archive outside of the Google tenant. Was hoping there is an approach with GAM where I can transfer chat in a similar way as I can transfer Drive files.

Appreciate your thoughts

CloudM does some chat history migration. Chat API for migration became GA in the past few months, and very few vendors have implemented support for it, especially for Google to Google migration scenarios.
