gam-3.65-windows-x64\gam-64>gam update group te...@domain.com who_can_post_message anyone_can_post

ERROR: 400: PermissionDenied: Cannot allow external entities to post. - invalid

How do you allow external entities to all groups?  I thought that was the point of this command!

I hope I do not have to manually enable this in each group as it defeats the purpose of this tool.  I have over 400 groups to do this to!

I hope someone can help....

When I look up a group I created manually compared to one I created using GAM the one attribut that is different is:

allowExternalMembers: true  (Manually Created)

allowExternalMembers: false (Created using Gam)

I get the following when I try to modify.

gam-3.65-windows-x64\gam-64>gam update group te...@domain.com who_can_post_message anyone_can_post
ERROR: 400: PermissionDenied: Cannot allow external entities to post. - invalid

I hope there is a way to modify this via Gam......

Even when I perform the following it still fails....

gam update group te...@domain.com allow_external_members true

In the Admin Console, under Apps, Google Apps, Groups For Business, Advanced Settings what do you have set for Member & Email Alias? You need to have the Group Owners Can Allow Incoming Email From Outside this Domain before you can set the group to allow emails from Public
