Use of customType

Hi,

I'd like to add a phone number that has a custom type of "DDI" to users. I've tried the following:

gam update user bob.smith phone type custom customType DDI value 00112233 notprimary

but GAM seems to just hang when trying to execute this command and I have to Ctrl-C to exit back to the command line. Is it possible to add a phone with a customType using GAM?
