List of users forwarding

to GAM for G Suite
I was able to get GAM to show a list of users that are forwarding in a command prompt. I cannot get the list to print. When I run gam all users print forward I get an error ERROR: 400: Mail service not enabled - serviceNotAvailable

Also, I don't think the list is accurate. There are at least 5 people that are marked forwarding false that I know for a fact forward their email. Is there another command I can run to verify this information?

Newest version of GAM, 4.11. I used gam all users print forward and it fails with a 400 error.

If I use gam all users show forward that works but I've got 600+ accounts and I really need a csv file with the info in it.

The error means some users don't have Gmail turned on (which is probably expected for some users in your domain). GAM should be displaying the error for those users but continuing on to other users and eventually outputting the CSV. Is that what you are seeing?

Can you show us exactly what command you are running and what the output is?

If a significant portion of your users have Gmail service off it'd be faster to only list forwards for users that have it turned on. You can use something like:

gam ou_and_children /GmailEnabled print forward

where /GmailEnabled is the OU that has Gmail service enabled. If there are multiple root OUs with it enabled you may need to run the command for each OU.

None of my users have mail turned off. That's weird. I've got 2 OUs and I just want the main OU to spit out a list of who is forwarding and to where. There used to be a simple report containing this information. I'm not sure why it needs to be so difficult now.

this will create a spreadsheet with all your users, their OU and if they have a Gmail mailbox created. Do you see anything in common for users that show False for isMailboxSetup?

Getting all users in G Suite account (may take some time on a large account)...
Got 622 users...
done getting 622 users.

And then it just sits  for 15 mins and nothing happens.

This script should show you what you want. The comments describe deleting filters that forward outside of your domain, that step is optional.

hmm, same error on console.cloud.google.com which is a Ubuntu shell.
First error line even seems untrue.

That error leads me to believe it is looking for another variable from the command line...  not sure what the script is calling, but it needs the variable from the command line, which has not been typed in...

The file name looks like it needs to be entered along with the command.

Yes the initial # got dropped in the copy/paste of the script, my apologies.
The script expects two file names on the command line: $ python GetNonDomainFilterForwards.py filters.csv outsidefilters.csv 
filters.csv is the output from the gam command that prints the filters, it is read by the script
outsidefilters.csv is the output from the script
