Hi Guys,

Updating the customer information through gam and ran into an error for 'countryCode'. I've enter gam update customer countryCode "US" and it throws back an error of ERROR: 400: Invalid country code - invalid.

I tried ... country, countrycode, countryCode "NZ", and a few others with no avail. Should I be using the ISO country code standard or is there something else to this?

I wonder if it is linked to the Time Zone? Is your Time Zone correct for the country you are changing to?

If you do: gam info customer, are the other values correct?
The documentation doesn't talk about validation, but does your phoneNumber match your country code? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.164

Hi Ross,

Minus the country code, all other values are correct. Also, the phone number is prefixed by the + and country code, 1.

I've tried Alpha-2 and Alpha-3 codes in the past and just tried the numeric code, but still the same error.

It's safe to for me to say that this does not have an affect on our billing because Google is still billing us and they are getting our money. So not a big deal if it's only cosmetic.

What is the countryCode now and what do you want it to be?

It’s set to GB, but would like for it to be US.

Did this ever get resolved?  I'm running into the same issue with one of my clients.  Their info returned for `gam info domain` was completely wrong with a country code for Vietnam (despite nothing being wrong in anything visible in the admin console).  They are in the US.  I could change all the fields except for the country code.  No matter what I try it always returns "Invalid country code".

I'm not sure what the point of that data even is given that it apparently isn't used anywhere in any other part of Google Workspace.  The organization information, billing address, and all other info appears to be correct in the admin console.
