Hi,

In the notes of the Getting Started guide it is mentioned that the result of an exported user mailbox can be viewed with a mail client like Thunderbird. I've succesfully exported the users mailbox and decrypted the file into a .txt file. Unfortunately I'm not able to import this file into Thunderbird. When I change .txt into .eml I can only read the first message in the file. Do you have suggestions how to import and read all messages in Thunderbird?

Thanks,
Hank

Hi Hank,

The file is in mbox format, not .eml (.eml is a single message format only which is why you got the reuslts you did). This extension for TB might be of some use to you though I've not tried it personally, let me know if it works for you:

Hi Jay,

Thank you for the suggestion. After installing this add-on in TB I can right-click on "local folder" and select "import/export" and "import Mbox-file". I renamed the file-extensions of the exported mailboxes to ".mbox" and selected a file. After a few seconds a new email folder (with the name of the file) was created and when opened in includes all the individual emails. The embedded images are displayed correctly and the attachments are easily accesible. To summarize: it works perfectly!

Regards,
Hank

Good to know, I may add that to the Wiki. Thanks for reporting back with your results.

One other thing I'd like to mention:

When trying to upload the GPG key I encountered some problems (I received the following error message: "EncryptionPublicKeyInvalidType"). To solve this I replaced the original command (gpg --export --armor | gam audit uploadkey) with te following command; gpg --armor --export <key>| gam audit uploadkey. This solved the problem. I got the key with the output form the "gpg --export --armor" command. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact then when generating the key it asks for a primary and a subkey?
