Bulk-creating new accounts using GAM and Sheets

I have finally formalized my method for bulk-creating faculty (and student!) accounts from a list stored in Google Sheets. A number of people asked me to share, so I created a demo spreadsheet which walks through the process. I am sure that this is old information for most of the folks on this list, but I built the document... so I figured I'd share it; maybe someone will find it helpful.

That Sheet has lots of great ideas also for other things you can do with GAM and Sheets.

The duplicate user issue is one you can circumvent if you use update user instead of create user, and add createifnotfound as an option.

That way one can update data on existing users too.

Don't just take my word for it. Test it, and verify that it does what you want, and doesn't mess up your other ideas.

Wow... that createifnotfound option (and its cousin, notfoundpassword) really suggest some interesting possibilities for easily resetting student accounts for the new year!

Yes, that's another great option.

However, regularly resetting passwords isn't.

I hope that's not what you meant. 

It's a long since abandoned concept.
