Hi,

Is it possible to add calendar events of the type "Out of Office" using GAMADV-XTD3? I've been looking through the documentation but can't see an option for this.

Thanks,
Joe.

Hi Dale,

I've looked at that but it seems that the gmail vacation auto-reply setting isn't linked to the calendar. I need to create multiple events of type "Out of office" in people's calendars so that any new or existing meeting invites are automatically declined.

Thanks,
Joe.

Joe,

transparencystringWhether the event blocks time on the calendar. Optional. Possible values are:
  • "opaque" - Default value. The event does block time on the calendar. This is equivalent to setting Show me as to Busy in the Calendar UI.
  • "transparent" - The event does not block time on the calendar. This is equivalent to setting Show me as to Available in the Calendar UI.

Add transparency opaque to your event creation command.

Thanks Ross. Looks like that just creates a regular event type with Busy set, which doesn't automatically decline any new or existing events that conflict, which is the functionality provided by the Out of Office event type. Doesn't look like there's the capability to create that event type via the api: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/112063903

Joe,

Thanks, now I see the difference. Quite a lot of interest at: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/112063903
I especially liked this comment, must be a Google API newbie: How can you release a feature that isn't API exposed!?
