Pending members

New to Google Groups so be kind please.

How do entries get into Pending members?

We are using Google Groups and it's working fine.  However, we have some non-financial members in our members list that I want to move to Pending members so I don't lose their details in case they return to the club.

Can this be done?  If so, how?

The "Pending Members" list is for those individuals who respond to an invitation to the Group or who request to join the group and must be approved; please see https://support.google.com/groups/answer/2465464?hl=en for details.

The only group modification you can perform via GAM at this time appears to be changing the Delivery status to "disabled", "none" or "nomail", e.g.:

gam user <UserTypeEntity> update groups delivery disabled <GroupEntity>

From the Group Members interface, you can add the user to "Banned users" for now, and then remove them from "Banned users" once (if) they return...but that's not available via gam to my knowledge (or at least, not with GAMADV-XTD3 6.15.15).

Troy gave an Advanced GAM command, the following version will work in Standard and Advanced GAM.

gam update group <GroupEntity> update delivery disabled user <UserTypeEntity>

Hello all,

Around a few months ago, I requested to join a wrf_hydro_user group but still it is showing a pending request. 

How can I join that group? It is very much essential for me to join the group as I am facing some problems in my research work.

The owner of the group must let you in.
