GAM can’t help you. You need to look into Jay Lee’s Got Your Back (GYB) utility.

Right. GAM is an admin management tool, not a backup or migration tool.

Having said that, if you have Google Vault you could do the export to mbox with Google Vault for the mailbox.

GYB is the proper tool for Gmail backup though.
