I have a calendar shared with a google group containing the board members of a non profit. This calendar has dates that we need to do things annually, like file corporate commission report, etc.
The problem with google calendar is that reminders are only sent if the person accepts the event. A lot of board members never accept the invite so they never get reminders.
Board members are elected every year and every year after the election, we update the group to contain the elected board members. When board members change, and we update the group, the new people will never get an invite for existing recurring events and therefore don't even get an opportunity to accept it to they can get a reminder.
This leaves us with a pretty much useless calendar.
Is there some way to force the sending of reminders to the google group the calendar is shared with? I understand how this could be abused so I suspect the answer is no, but I'm at the point where I'm going to have to write my own cron job/script that sends out reminders myself. Hoping someone has some sort of workaround.
