Try this:

gam show guardians invitations student stu...@student.com states PENDING

Copy the invitationId from the output

gam cancel guardianinvitation PasteInvitationIdHere stu...@student.com

Inside Google Classroom, a student has a parent's email and it says Invited. I issued the invitation last October. The parent never accepted the invitation but their email is still there.

It is a new school year so I'd like to re-issue the invitation for this parent. I used the command:

gam create guardianinvite 

I get the response: ERROR: 409: Requested entity already exists - alreadyExists

So, I tried to delete that invitation using the command: 

gam delete guardian

I get the response: par...@parent.com is not a guardian of stu...@student.com and no invitation exists 

I then tried:

gam cancel guardianinvitation 

and I get the response

ERROR: Guardian invitation par...@parent.com for stu...@student.com does not exist. 

So, how can I re-issue this guardian invitation if I cannot remove the old one?

How can I tell the difference between completed and pending if it says completed even if the parent never accepted the invitation? I was able to cancel the complete invitation though.

I'm having this exact same problem. I tried doing what Ross wrote, but I received the error message "ERROR: 400: Precondition check failed. - 400"
Anyone have ideas of what I can do to remove this guardian?
I am using Basic GAM.
