I am trying to delete a chat group with the following command:
gam user <user email> delete chatspace spaces/qwertyuiop
The response is:
Delete Failed: Invalid space type: GROUP_CHAT. Specify a space type of SPACE.
The same syntax works when fetching the chatspace info:
gam user <user email> info chatspace spaces/qwertyuiop
The spaceType is indeed GROUP_CHAT

The API desn't support deleting GROUP_CHAT spaces.

Ross - has there been any updates to the CHAT API to where we can remove a group_chat as admin via GAM? Is it possible to remove a member of the group chat via GAM?
