GAM Setup - Not a Google Workspace User?

Hello all,

Looking to set up GAM and hit a hurdle. Plodding through the guide here:

I am somewhere around " Authorize User Data and Settings Access  " about half way down, specifically here:

• GAM will prompt you for the email address of a regular, non-admin user in your Google Workspace domain. Make sure this user has the Gmail, Drive and Calendar services enabled. If the service is not enabled, GAM will fail to connect to that service for the user.
• Now GAM will attempt to authenticate with each service / scope via the service account and acting on behalf of the user you specified above. It's expected that the first time through these attempts will FAIL. GAM will provide you with a URL to visit, a "Client name" and a list of scopes. Visit the URL and copy the "Client name" and scopes. Pay special attention when copying the scopes that you don't accidentally cut off the full list of URLs.

So, many fail as it says they might. But upon visiting the url to begin working through authorising them I get a google login page, but which won't let me proceed with:

admin.google.com is used for Google Workspace accounts only. Regular Gmail accounts cannot be used to sign in to admin.google.com

But I've gotten this far with that account and it is a super admin. I wasn't aware it needed to have or be anything else.

How do I get past this?

Login to the admin console as your super admin before pasting in the URL.

You know I SWEAR that account was a Super Admin before I got cracking with things. But I checked back after reading your message and it just wasn't. Urgh.

Certainly my mistake somewhere, all done now and GAM setup finished!
