Hello All, I am using a VBScript to automatically create and run a GAM.bat file based off of exports from my Student Management System.  Periodically, the gam.bat file will halt because it wants to check for updates.

Is there a way to permanently disable the check for updates feature?  If I click "n", it will go a few days without asking, then it will ask again.

Thanks,

Yes, just create a blank text file called "noupdatecheck.txt" in the same folder as gam.exe or gam.py. This disables all update checks.

Be sure to check here regularly to make sure you're staying up to date with the latest GAM releases.

Just create a text file called:

noupdatecheck.txt

in the GAM directory.

We are fairly new users of GAM. We discovered this also, the hard way, with our change password scripting.

I suggest that having an unexpected interactive prompt is not the right way to handle this. It would be better to nag - even on every run - with a couple lines pointing out that it is out of date rather than disrupt scripting in an unpredictable manner.

Hi Walter
