Bulk moving users from one Google Group to other group

Is it possible to move all users from one Google Group to another one, without exporting to csv and uploading to new group?

This should do the trick:

$ gam print group-members group source...@yourdomain.com fields email | gam csv - gam update group target...@yourdomain.com add member ~email

Even easier:

$ gam update group target...@yourdomain.com sync member group source...@yourdomain.com

You may need to repeat for owners/managers. See the manual: https://github.com/jay0lee/GAM/wiki/GAM3DirectoryCommands#sync-members-managers-owners-to-a-group

There is / was / is again an issue with syncing: because of a bug in the API, syncing members wipes out owners/managers. Ross' GAMADV-X works around that, I believe. Also, you can tweak some things in the operation. Refer to the manual for that: https://github.com/taers232c/GAMADV-X/wiki/Group-Membership

Admin/Peter,

If you're actually trying to move the users to a new group, i.e., delete them from the group they're currently in and add them to the new group, I'd do this:

gam update group target...@yourdomain.com add member group source...@yourdomain.com

gam update group source...@yourdomain.com clear member

I've used add instead of sync in case target.group already has other members.
