gam hangs with no error message

gam used to work fine for me and I've been using with my domain with no issues.

Today, when typing python gam.py info domain, I get no visible output from gam and nothing happens after waiting for 10+ minutes. Running python with -v does not provide any clues.

I thought that this might have been an issue with either my copy of gam or changes with my domain so I downloaded a fresh copy and tried again with the same result. It should prompt me for my domain e.t.c. but nothing happens.
