Hey,

I want to use GAM to upload a bunch of files to Google Drive for backup purposes.

Unfortunately I only seem to be able to create folders with GAM; I can't use the 'localfile' parameter.

When I try the following command,

gam user danny.admin add drivefile localfile C:\GAM\test.mp4

I get the following error, even when elevated -

 Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "gam.py", line 12881, in <module>
File "gam.py", line 12709, in ProcessGAMCommand
File "gam.py", line 4492, in createDriveFile
File "gam.py", line 713, in callGAPI
File "gam.py", line 578, in checkGAPIError
AttributeError: 'function' object has no attribute 'credentials'
[11332] Failed to execute script gam

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Why don’t you get something like https://www.arqbackup.com/ instead?

Danny,

As Eric pointed out, GAM is not the best tool for bulk uploading.

I want to verify why your particular upload didn't work.
Do: gam user danny.admin check serviceaccount
What are the results?

On the Mac, there is a great app called transmit that works really well for putting stuff on Google Drive.

For my backups, I have a Google drive instance on a Linux box where all my servers put their tar.gz or .xz files in, and that puts them up on Google Drive.

That's an old topic, but since it still shows up while googling, I suggest Rclone for Google Drive as a good answer.
