Greetings all!

Looking into a solution here.

Is there a way to query the number of emails sent to a Google Group in workspace within a certain timeframe via GAM?

While the graphical Email Log Search feature in the Google Admin console is able to do this, looking to find the number of emails sent to each Google Group in a large set of Google Groups (1000+)
Using Email Log Search for such a large pool of Google Groups would take quite a while (Plus manual), since you can only search for one recipient email at a time.

Can this be accomplished with GAM?

You can do this with Vault.

Similar questions up every month or so on this list. One thing that I always note is that groups are used for much more than just email: also access control in Drive, invitations to Calendar events, enabling features in the admin console, etc., so “last email” isn’t the only metric to use for whether a Group is still in use….
