Setting Out of Office Messages with GAM

One of our users has called in sick and therefore unable to set their own out of office message, which has now become my task.

I am trying to use GAM to set the Out of Office message, and as far as I can tell it is being applied successfully but fails to change any of the user's settings. Perhaps I am doing something wrong here, can somebody please advise?

Usage as per Wiki:
gam
 user <username> | group <groupname> | ou <ouname> | all users
 vacation on|off subject <subject text>
 [message <message text>]
 [file <message file>]
 startdate <YYYY-MM-DD> enddate <YYYY-MM-DD>
 [contactsonly] [domainonly]

My usage:
gam user <user> vacation on subject "Out of Office" message "Hi\n\nI am currently out of the office returning Monday 14th March. If you require immediate assistance please phone 0..... otherwise I will reply on my return." startdate 2016-03-07 enddate 2016-03-14

I have also tried using a file and not setting a start/end date but no settings update on the user when I then run the "gam user <user> show vacation" command.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you are on GAM 3.62 or 3.63, this is a bug. I have submitted a pull request to Jay to fix it in 3.63 but he hasn't taken action on it yet.
In the mean time, you can go here: https://github.com/taers232c/GAM/releases/tag/v3.64
to get a version that should operate correctly.
