Changes to internal & external classifications in Google Groups

Hi Ross,

With these recent changes to Google Groups, there is a new property in a groups settings "whoCanAddExternalMembers", that is sort of a sub setting to the existing "allowExternalMembers". It's documented here.

I'm facing the need to update this setting in hundreds of groups across 100+ Workspaces, and it would be excellent to be able to do it with GAM.

I looked through the current docs, but don't see it included, nor when I get the settings for a group with 'gam info group em...@domain.com', so hopefully I'm not missing it.

Added option `whocanaddexternalmembers only_owners_can_add_external_members|end_users_can_add_external_members` to `<GroupSettingsAttribute>`.

It appears that `allowexternalmembers true` must be set in the same command.

Current is 7.48.07

I had occasion today to try adding allowexternalmembers true and whocanaddexternalmembers only_owners_can_add_external_members

to a new group I'm creating, but found that the documentation is incorrect. That leads me to a question of what it really means. 

I'm running GAM 7.48.11 

I ran:

.......

gam update group groupname whocanaddexternalmembers only_owners_can_add_external_members
Command: gam update group groupname whocanaddexternalmembers >>>only_owners_can_add_external_members<<<

ERROR: Invalid choice (onlyownerscanaddexternalmembers): Expected <onlyadminscanaddexternalmembers|enduserscanaddexternalmembers>

As does the GamCommands.txt. 

For my group, yes, it does work to update with   whocanaddexternalmembers  only_admins_can_add_external_members but now I'm wondering if that means "only Google Workspace Admins" or does it actually refer to "admins of the group itself, i.e, owners and/or managers"? 

What I'd like/hope for from the documentation is a way to allow group owners to be able to add external members.

The Wiki is incorrect, I have corrected it.

This should do it: gam update group gr...@domain.com allowexternalmembers true whocanaddexternalmembers end_users_can_add_external_members whocanmoderatemembers owners_only
