Hey there,

I have followed the Getting Started guide and am trying to run GAM for the first time with no luck.
Here is the error that I am receiving no matter what I try:

...

If your browser is on a different machine then exit and re-run this
after creating a file called nobrowser
.txt in the same path as GAM.

Is there any solution available for this? I am running the latest 3.44 x64 edition.

Looks like a firewall or proxy is blocking GAM from accessing Google servers.

Hi Jay,

I need to run this from a server behind the firewall. I opened the firewall port 443 for *.google.com and *.googleapis.com. Still I get the same as Adrian posted. When I checked the logs, I found that it tries to connect to 192.30.253.116 using 443. 192.30.253.116 is a github IP.

Is there a way to bypass this? If not what are the IPs at github I need to open the the traffic with what ports?

Here is what the log shows:

Feb 28 13:13:34 fw1-sec-host_name.domain_name 1,2017/02/28 13:13:33,007801000695,TRAFFIC,drop,0,2017/02/28 13:13:33,169.xxx.xxx.xxx,192.30.253.116,0.0.0.0,0.0.0.0,explicit-deny,,,not-applicable,vsys1,ntwk-svc-pub-nn,vlan_name_nn,ae3.11,,panorama-logging,2017/02/28 13:13:33,0,1,55074,443,0,0,0x0,tcp,deny,78,78,0,1,2017/02/28 13:13:34,0,any,0,52829114834,0x0,US,US,0,1,0,policy-deny

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can try creating a file, noupdatecheck.txt in the same folder as GAM. This disables update checks which is the part that connects to GitHub.

No idea if GitHub publishes IP ranges or not. Few of the larger companies do these days. You really should look at a firewall capable of whitelisting at the hostname level IMHO.
