Hey,

I manage a number of groups with quite a few users, but not every user has to receive every mail. You can always adjust this manually, but I would like to do this automatically when importing the user.
How can I add a user with the option "not receive mail"? Who can help me?

Thank you

Guy

Guy,

The command syntax is:
gam update group <GroupItem> add [owner|manager|member] [notsuspended|suspended] [allmail|daily|digest|none|nomail] <UserTypeEntity>

Hi Ross

Thanks for you answer.
But unfortunally, it doesn't work

this is the syntax I use:      GAM UPDATE Group xxx add MANAGER user xxx [nomail]

but the user is still added with receiving all mails sent to this group

any idee?

thanks

Guy

Did you use the square brackets? It means it's optional, do you not need to include with the actual GAM command.

Guy,

Here is the syntax:
gam update group <GroupItem> add [owner|manager|member] [notsuspended|suspended] [allmail|daily|digest|none|nomail] <UserTypeEntity>

Here is your command:
GAM UPDATE Group xxx add MANAGER user xxx [nomail]

Your command is not valid syntax, you want:
GAM UPDATE Group xxx add MANAGER nomail user xxx

Guy,

That version is years out of date, the current version is 6.07.
Update, then do:
gam update project
gam oauth delete
gam oauth create
gam user us...@domain.com check serviceaccount
