I have workspace user approaching their 30gb limit. Is there a way to bulk migrate emails and their attachments into a group to free up their account space?

Jeff:

I hate to say this, but that’s something I’d tell the user to do.

You didn’t mention which google edition you are on, but there is a possibility that your user’s data cap is coming from a total of data stored in all google services.  You might be able to alleviate the pinch by doing some work on the users google drive instead.

Ha yes, normally I would Rance. We’ve really only started utilizing groups, and there are thousands of emails I’d like to move over - many accounts each holding a copy of 1 email with multiple attachments, etc. Thought there might be some GAM magic for this.

Thanks Ross! I’ll try and work out a functional statement from this.

Jeff,

This command archives the messages to the group but does not delete them from the user; you'll have to do that in a subsequent step.
