Hi, folks,
I'm trying to transfer a My Drive to a Shared Drive thus:

gam user <username> copy drivefile root recursive teamdriveparentid <drive id> mergewithparent true

     And I'm getting this result:

User: <username>@example.com, Copy 1 Drive File/Folder

User: <username>@example.com, Drive File Not Copied: shareddriveparentid: <drive id>, Does not exist

This puzzles me, because I just created that Shared Drive and got the ID from the Admin Console. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

     John A

<username> must be a manager of <drive id>, it appears that <username> has no access to <drive id>

Though now, another problem raises its head. There's a spreadsheet I was asked to be sure to copy, but it did not copy, with the message Copy Failed: The user does not have sufficient permissions for this file.

I'm puzzled by this, because a gam show for the file shows that the owner of the My Drive is indeed the owner of the spreadsheet. What am I missing?

Did you get anywhere with this John? Having the same issue.

The user is a manager on the shared drive and when I try to copy a drive file that the user owns to the shared drive im getting "Copy Failed: The user does not have sufficient permissions for this file"  which makes no sense because they own the file.

Send me a private Meet/Zoom invitation and we'll investigate.

I'm in California (PDT GMT-7).
