Grant editor access to my Admin account to a folder and sub folders and files

Hello Everyone,

Is there a way to grant access to my Admin account on folder contains so many subfolders and files ,i need an edit access on all the files and folders under this root folder

I tried this but i still see that i don't have access on some of the files:

gam user <File Owner Email> add drivefileacl <File ID> user <New Editor Email> role editor

Hi, 

What you want to do is first list all of the files and folders that belongs to that specific folder, you can do this for an specific folder in an specific user 

gam redirect csv - todrive tdtitle "<File Name>" user <User Email Address> print filelist select <Top Folder ID> fields id,name,webviewlink,owners.emailaddress,modifiedtime

Once you have that file, just ran the command you have on the list of all files/folders

When I try this command I get

ERROR: redirect is not a valid argument for "gam"

Am I missing something here?

You're using Standard GAM, redirect is only supported in Advanced GAM.

I got that setup and these suggestions are working.

However, it only shows files owned by the user. Is there a way to show all files and folders under the specified folders not owned by the user?

Add one of these to the command

showownedby me - this is the default

showownedby any - show all files regardless of owner

showownedby others - only show files owned by someone other than the user

There is currently no capability in Advanced GAM to do this.
