Transfer Ownership Failed, "Sorry, an item is restricted in sharing"

Hi,

We have a script to migrate Google Drive data for departed staff. It contains the command

gam select "$Tenant" user "$U_Source" print filelist id title |gam csv - gam user "~~Owner~~" transfer ownership "~~id~~" "$U_Delegate"

It recently failed for one user:

User: <redacted>, Drive Folder: My MacBook Pro (1) (<redacted>), Transfer Ownership Failed: Permission ID: <redacted> Sorry, an item is restricted in sharing." (1/4)

This looks like the local desktop/documents backup performed by the Google Drive client. Does anyone have any tips for resolving this?

As far as I know, those folders are special and can't be manipulated.
