Good Morning,

I am attempting to use the following command to copy a folder from a shared drive to the root of a user's mydrive

gam user <User Email Address> copy drivefile <Team Drive Folder ID> recursive copytopfolderpermissions false copyfilepermissions false copysubfolderpermissions false newfilename "<New Folder Name>"

However, when I do this it just creates a copy of the same folder in the root of the shared drive. What am I doing wrong here?

Will,

You didn't specify the parent folder of he destination so it defaults to the top of the current drive.
Add: parentid root

Is it possible to copy all the contents of a Shared Drive to the root of a user's mydrive while retaining folder structure and sharing permissions?
