I have convinced one of my non-profits to go with Chromebooks for their office environment which is primarily staffed by volunteers. They are using Business Standard licenses and are wondering about Enterprise Chromebook management. It seems that an "enterprise" offering might need an Enterprise agreement. However, I see no evidence of this requirement. Absent this, it seems I can start with our two test Chromebooks for $100/yr and that's it. Can anybody confirm that for me?

I know there is a trial for two weeks. The only page I can find at Google on the topic is here: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/1289314?hl=en

The organization doesn't want to start a trial until the units are received and to order the units, they really need to know the answer about the Enterprise Upgrade specifics. Do they have to pay more for monthly licenses as well? E.g upgrade from Business Standard to some unspecified increase in costs? Or is there a lesser offering called Chromebook management console? Does GAM support CB management? Hoping someone knows.

Eric:

I can’t speak for the commercial side of things, but in education the “management” is part of google admin and is included for free, this is the part you will need to pay for.

However, each chromebook must also be purchased with a management license allowing each chromebook to enroll into management.

You must tell your vendor the google domain so they can add the management licenses for you, but the vendor won’t be able to add the licenses to your domain until you’ve upgraded your domain.

It is possible to buy the licenses after you get the chromebooks and enroll them into management after you test them, but this is a heavy touch requirement.  As the only time you can get the enrollment screen is during the out-of-box-experience.  You have to reset & redeploy a chromebook to go through the wizard again.

Hope this helps.
