Claim ownership with "onlyusers" option doesn't seem to work

I'm trying to transfer ownership of files within several Google Drive folders that are owned by a specific user (who is no longer an employee) to another user. If I use the following command:

gam user jdoe claim ownership id <folder id>

...it iterates through and changes the ownership of every file to jdoe.

However, if I use the following command:

gam user jdoe claim ownership id <folder id> onlyuser msmith

...it gives me a count of files in each sub-folder and then stops. It doesn't actually transfer ownership of files.

Am I doing something wrong here? Seems like it should be pretty straightforward.

Thanks!

I didn’t. Does it work if I use that? That’s an easy fix for now. I will try that!

Finally got a chance to try this again and I can confirm that it does work using the full email address. Thanks for the quick response! I'm assuming that if I update gam now that it will include your fix and allow the use of just the username? Either way, this command has been a huge help to me this week!!
